Indoor/Outdoor Water Warrior Cables
Windy City Wire’s Indoor/Outdoor Water Warrior cables are purpose-built SmartWire low-voltage constructions for harsh and wet environments. Designed for dependable performance in control, signaling, and power-limited circuits, these outdoor wire and cable options are suitable for wet locations and help simplify installs across security, access control, fire alarm (power-limited and non–power-limited), building automation, and landscape applications.
Manufactured in the United States as part of our SmartWire product line, Water Warrior wire and cable balances durability and flexibility to handle conduit, tray, and direct-building runs where environmental exposure is a concern. Contractors and integrators choose these water resistant wire and cable constructions to reduce callbacks, standardize field practices, and maintain code compliance with UL Type TC, PLTC, FPL, or NPLF listings as applicable to the construction.

RG6 uses a thicker center conductor and dielectric than RG59, providing lower signal loss and better high‑frequency performance—ideal for CATV, satellite, and broadband over longer runs. RG59 is thinner, has higher attenuation, and is best for shorter baseband video runs (e.g., analog CCTV). Shielding levels vary by construction, but RG6 generally offers stronger shielding options.
BACnet is a building automation protocol; when run as BACnet MS/TP it rides on an RS485 physical layer using twisted pair and supports multi‑drop networks. RS232 is single‑ended, point‑to‑point, and suitable for short distances with limited noise immunity. RS485 is balanced differential, supports multi‑drop bus topologies, enables much longer distances at lower data rates, and relies on twisted pair with proper impedance for noise rejection.
